ARRANGER NOTES — You will notice that the intro. for this arrangement borrows from the melody of the last line (…shall come to thee, O Israel). You will also notice that, while the first part of the verse is in the key of D minor, the resounding F and C Major chords are heard at the double bar (ms. 16 on the word: Rejoice). Be sure to take time with the crescendo from mp to mf to dramatically communicate the word: Rejoice as well. Since this ancient melody is described as a plainsong (or chant), a modulation seems out of place so the entire arrangement remains in the key of D minor.
