SUGGESTIONS FOR USE — Prelude, Offertory
ARRANGER NOTES — Written by Darlene Zschech, this popular Hillsong title has quickly become an Easter classic. This arrangement has a strong rhythmic feel throughout and should be played ‘with confidence’ as suggested. Beginning with an Fsm7 chord, you may think that you are in the key of E major… until bar 3 when the D natural in the L H confirms that the key is actually A major. (The melody seems to lay in the hand easily in this key for the entire first verse and chorus.) At bar 39 the key change to C major (a minor 3rd higher) should be bold and dramatic. The broader tempo, along with more movement in the L H, gives added fullness to the final chorus and ‘big’ ending (bars 55–57).
